"If people around me are not buying, I’ll not buy it either." -- The psychiatrist Hideki Wada points out that the people of this psychological stand are observed more and more in Japan these days. This is due to increasing number of people having tendency of aligning their behavior with others around them (schizophrenia).
Due to the prosperity that the nation has gained, the Japanese have developed a tendency of thinking that if I do just what other person is doing, I might as well gain the prosperity. Mr. Wada warns that if industry does not make special efforts to incline the people with this kind of psychology towards buying, then this “no purchasing” tendency will continue henceforth.
