TOKYO, Oct 03, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Nomura Research Institute, Ltd. (tokyo:4307), a leading provider of consulting services and system solutions, has announced its decision to establish a subsidiary in India to develop a consulting business. NRI has also decided to invest capital in a local research company, Market Xcel Data Matrix Pvt. Ltd. in order to secure a strong base for research and consulting business activities in India.
There is a continuous flow of global companies into India where remarkable economic growth is going on. Interest in the Indian market is growing among many Japanese companies. NRI has been quite active in supporting Japanese and global companies' successful entry into the Indian market and will provide them with much quicker and more elaborate research and consulting services through the new subsidiary.
Moreover, NRI has decided to acquire 25.1% of a local research company, Market Xcel Data Matrix's share. "By capital investment in the local company, we will secure our research bases in eight cities in India which will enable us to establish an indigenous and full-fledged organization for research and consulting services. We will be the largest among Japanese consulting firms" said Shiro Tanikawa, Director, Corporate Senior Vice President.
NRI's Indian subsidiary will start operating in November, 2011. At first, it will have around 10 staff members, but this figure will rise to around 30 after five years. They will prepare business strategies for Japanese companies in the automobile industry and so on.
Following the establishment in India, NRI is determined to vigorously pursue global expansion of its consulting services, mainly in Asia and emerging countries.
