Google (U.S.) on 12th, said to have been thinking of exiting from business in China.
Apart from having had a cyber attack from the country, the reason of exiting seems to be the censorship applied on the search contents by the Chinese government.
Even if Google leaves China, the Chinese web sites can still be browsed from other countries.
If IT giant like Google leaves, it might adversely affect the other IT companies that are trying to establish business in China.
Google has said that the cyber attack happened in last December is analysed and the aim of attack was to view the mails of a human rights activist working in China, U.S. and Europe. There are other 20 companies in IT and media who have got similar cyber attack. Google looks at these attacks as a major concern regarding freedom of speech.
Google has not clearly stated about the involvement of Chinese government in these attacks. However in the interview to U.S. television, the officials of the company said that attack was highly organised and operational, and stressed that the censorship from Chinese government is being problematic.
Google had accepted the censorship to some extent, from Chinese government, when it started the business in China in 2006.
However, Google has stated that it will discuss with Chinese government about continuing providing the search service in China without having the censorship.
