3rd November, 2007, it was shiny weather in Fukuoka

Around 9 am in the morning, my parents went to see "mochi tsuki (餅つき, mochi pounding)" by "Makushita (幕下, junior)" Sumo wrestlers from Kasuga Beya. Those Sumo wrestlers are visiting Fukuoka for Kyushu Basho (tournament), going to be held from 11th to 25th November.

This is Miyajidake Shrine, situated at Fukutsu-city, Fukuoka. One of the most important shrine in Fukuoka, and also the "Shimenawa (しめ縄)" rope overthere is the biggest one in Japan.

Since the shrine is on the top of a hill, we can view till the ocean very clearly.
Enjoy Mochi Tsuki pictures taken by my parents..

Finally, pounded mochis were steamed and served for the visitors.

Look at his smile, it projects "Showa" era...
